Code of Professionalism
Members of the Canadian Special Events Society (CSES) shall maintain a high standard of conduct and agree to abide by the following code of professionalism:
- Maintain a high level of fairness, integrity and dignity in all business relationships;
- Ensure that representatives of the CSES member follow the same guidelines of fairness, integrity and dignity;
- Respect confidentiality and avoid conflicts of interest;
- Protect the public against fraud and unfair practices;
- Foster an environment free of discrimination, harassment and abuse so that positive interaction among employees, volunteers, suppliers and clients is encouraged;
- Maintain competence through continued professional development;
- Support the Society in its efforts to advance the profession of the Special Event Professional through participation in conferences, seminars and education courses;
- Advise the appropriate Society President or Past President of any member who may have contravened this Code.
The Code of Professionalism serves to enhance public confidence in the integrity of members of the Society. Adherence to this Code is a requirement for membership in the Society and the Society shall interpret and enforce the Code.
